Numinis
Policy Development Forum
What is Numinis?
Numen ..(n) Numina...(pl) Latin Numen, -inis...A presiding deity or spirit.
The organisation. Numinis provides; a forum for development of ideas, of research, of experience and inspiration - about growth - human growth and development, and therefore the frowth and change of philosophies, institutions, and relationships.
The principles. We experience the need to approach genuine wholeness in society. The individual, family, community, organisation and broader society need practical solutions to problems, which allow the development of the abilities and potentials at all levels. In one word, this is GROWTH.
Practicality & Spirituality in it's many forms and ideologies, concepts, sciences, technologies, informing the emotional and material life can be examined to move towards a more whole society - to engage in process.
Who
are Numinis?
To work practically to help renew and reintegrate the various stream of human, community and world development. The physical needs and expressions, the emotional the intellectual and the spiritual.
By developing a range of policies, ideas and new structures - definitive structures to serve people into a new era. By patiently gathering the best of new and old thought to fertilise and renew.
What
areas do we examine?
Philosophy.
Belief system.
We believe that we experience to a lesser and greater degree a number of different realities. Our physical lives, and emotional lives are we propose the governing experience. We also examine the world through a mental faculty, where we move with a series of beliefs about the world, ourselves and each other.
Informing this we have the spiritual experience aimed at by the plethora of religious and philosophical systems.
We believe that humans can grow - can undertake conscious and unconscious change which may take many forms.
The
Individual...
We believe that an individual has physical, emotional and intellectual needs, which are well recognised by the myriad pychologies and educational systems. In addition to this we believe that people have Spiritual needs.
History Present future
Body, Emotions, Mind, Spirituality
Self, relationships, community, society
The
Spiritual...
Spiritual experience, the spiritual quest, a part sometimes of religion, whatever we may think of it, is one of the cohesive cores of all successful cultures. We believe there is a need for spiritual renewal based on personal experience of the spiritual rather than standard religious forms.
The
Intellectual or Mental Life
Learning, the cultivation of the intellect is vital. Each and every individual will benefit from the cultivation of the best intellectual interests and a life long desire to learn and develop the mind. The development of intellect should be an aim and desire of all members of the community young and old, and opportunities for this should be presented and enabled. The realm of knowable things, our conceptions our cultural thoughts.
The
emotional Life
Developed and formed in childhood, the centre and animating principle behind most peoples lives and activities. The vast and growing field of psychology has revealed much information, but little emotional intelligence is common culturally.
The
physical life.
Physical skill and fitness, good health diet etc have been part of the regimes for all people involved in spiritual growth. These ideas should be supported.
Families
So much discussed - so many positions - so many views seeking power! How can we sort the value from the doctrine?
Community....
A dynamic mix of fundamental constituents
An individual also needs a community.....A healthy and developing family, a strong and supportive community a political and economic structure that enables the best growth of all it's members. By definition a community needs some sense of it self, an enabling leadership, enabled and growing participants. We believe that community consists of well-rounded people with their own individual lives and spaces interacting with each other in various units and forms. Communities should be tolerant of individual difference, and attempt balance between traditionally male and female ethos, between active and contemplative, between affluence and insufficiency. Neither pole should be dominant.

Green awareness has become a new orthodoxy. While we believe this to be largely a positive there is much of it clumsy and doctrinaire. We aim to apply environmental awareness more intelligently and in the light of historical awareness.
Process.
Development and
Change. Where are we going? How are we
going ?
People, societies and organisations are changing we believe at faster and faster rates. Change is some believe the norm. Individuals are in a state of change, which may be development. Individual relationships and the organisations that formalise these relationships are similarly in change.
